Is the return of Jesus Christ imminent? He said he would come back. So what’s taking so long?
It seems like the signs of the times are upon us. But life goes on. If events get bad enough will Jesus Christ come back to set things right? Or will we have to be our own saviors?
I would hate to disappoint you so let me start with a bold prediction: Jesus won’t come in the clouds of heaven before 2026! Sorry to disappoint you. Yep, you will have to suffer that much longer. Or you could have some fun while your waiting. Your call!
There’s Truth, And There’s Conviction
Most of us like to assume our convictions are based on truth. Hey, yours probably are. But those other guys? No way!
Conviction in a belief that is not true will lead to failure in some way.
My question to you: Is Jesus Christ really up in heaven somewhere planning a come back? Or is he just a conviction in the mind of millions of people across the world?
I can’t answer that question. All I can do is ask. So tell me, which is it?
Face Your Conviction
If Jesus Christ is really up in heaven, going to descend down to earth in power and great glory, then I can’t change that and neither can you. It is inevitable.
If Jesus Christ’s return is only a belief in the minds of millions or billions of people, but Jesus Christ really isn’t up in heaven somewhere, that doesn’t necessarily mean Jesus Christ won’t come back. It will just look a lot different.
If Jesus Christ is just a conviction in the mind of millions of people, if the story of Jesus Christ was written by his apostles, by men who no longer live in heaven or on earth, then there is no reason why the return of Jesus Christ can’t also be created by men on earth.
In other words: If Jesus is really coming back, let’s go! If not, beware. And seriously, don’t assume that your belief could not pull you into a delusional place, especially if the world took a dark turn. Wait until you see blood, what will you believe then? I am saying that men can pull of some Godlike things, and often it comes with a real close life crisis, one that naturally came about.
Do You Really Believe Jesus Christ Will Return?
If you truly do why have you not planned it in? Or is it just a future maybe, and if it happens when you are around then you really did get lucky!
Perhaps it is a long held tradition, and leaving that would be painful. I am not saying you should stop believing. The reason why I am asking is because I am genuinely interested in why you have that belief.
If it is for a foundation and something to base your life on then that makes sense.
If it is more than that, something you so firmly believe in that you pray for it and prepare, that is fascinating. You know what it is like to have true meaning.
I am not saying you are right. Because I once believed that too. I prepared for it every day. I think it is powerful thing to give meaning into your life.
So tell me, do you really believe Jesus will return in the clouds of heaven? Where did you get that conviction?
That Which Saves You Can Also Damn You
Suppose it’s in the best interest of society to firmly believe in Jesus Christ. For reasons like a foundation of good principles, a common belief, and a cause to rally around.
They say all societies need historical myths to bind them together. And I do believe that.
But be careful. It is these types of convictions, the ones that you can really feel, that people can take advantage of. They can leverage these beliefs to control you and even get you to walk against your own good and well being.
As humans, we like to assume we are above such tactics and manipulation. But the controllers took that into account too. They want your full conviction to be your own idea.
I don’t want to change your beliefs. And you probably shouldn’t. I am simply saying that if someone does use this to control you, then you probably won’t recognize it, or don’t if you are being controlled right now.
This Is How Jesus Will Come
You would think he would just get a lift from Elon Musk’s future planet to planet Uber service.
But nah, Jesus said:
Matthew 24:30-31 (NIV)
“Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.”
We have trumpets involved. People mourning. He will gather his chosen. This is starting to sound a bit scary.
Look guys, I just can’t. These are way too good of fear factors for me to live that way. I believe I can improve my life by applying Jesus Christ’s principles.
But by God I will not sit here and wonder about how or when or any of that crap.
Hell nah. Everything in my bosom denounces such fear within. If Jesus comes he is welcome to stay at my place. Until then I’ll be doing some shit.
When Will Jesus Come?
If anyone is a prophet and can predict the coming of Jesus Christ it is me! Starting to sound like my Dad? Ah naw, totally different.
December 19, 2032! That’s it man. You better be ready. Put that one in your calendar.
Matthew 24:42 (NIV)
“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.”
To me that means one thing: If you live today like it was your last, when the last one comes you will be ready.
Don’t live your last day in fear. Live it with courage and when death comes, regrets will not come to mind. The courage you had to live every day to the fullest will.
If you live every day that way, imagine what you will get done in life! That is my resolve, to live with more courage every single day.
