Sometimes I wonder if Trump owns two cults, one that loves him and one that hates him.
But I want to ask this question: Is MAGA a cult? Obviously if it is then Trump is the cult leader. As someone that likes Trump more or less, I understand that I might be a bit biased in this question. So I will do my best to be objective and not simp for Trump!
Believe it or not, watching people love and hate Trump opened my mind to ask questions about my dad. Watching people so vehemently oppose him and so loyally support him made me wonder how objective I was.
We humans get glued to a side. It’s pretty amazing. We make arguments of logic to win, not to seek the best outcome. We adjust the logic around so we are right. I do it all the time!
Would MAGA Do Anything Trump Wants?
If you follow a cult leader, you do anything they say even if it does not make sense.
Let’s say Trump bombed an American to get rid of them for political reasons. What percent of MAGA supports that, if they had overwhelming evidence of it?
I will guess less than five percent would support that. But lets suppose it is 20%. Whatever percent that is are cultish following.
How many people would really question the situation and think objectively about it?
Is Trump The MAGA God?
There are many people that say “Trump is our best option.” They don’t love him, but they don’t like what the other side has to offer. And they fear the other side enough to vote for Trump.
There is a portion of MAGA that feels Trump is almost a God. I don’t think it is over 10%, but I assume whatever that portion is is a cult.
Does Trump See Himself As A Cult Leader?
This is a great question. Trump clearly is very proud of the MAGA movement.
I think Trump knows that a small percent of MAGA would follow him to the death.
Trump certainly has some cultish characteristics. For example, saying something negative about Joe Rogan because Joe said he supports RFK. That is a rash move. You can’t look at that as strategy or anything wise, it just does not make sense.
Donald Trump most probably does not think of himself as a cult leader. But he carries with him many cult leader tendencies. I think that you could say that about almost any major leader. They have a sense of power and it is certainly addictive.
I think to some extent Trump sees this flaw in himself. He understands that he needs to bring a coalition of voters in order to win. His winning against his enemies and opponents certainly hinges on his ability to bring independents over.
Trump making a deal with RFK is a sign that he will set aside his ego enough to bring the independents. It does not appear that comes naturally for Trump. But his ability to see those cult like tendencies within himself are crucial for attaining power.
Why Are People Loyal To The Immoral Trump?
Many people look at Trump as a total maniac without good judgment who cheated on his wives and fucked all the hot chicks in New York.
I am much more terrified of a person that appears perfect, that has followed every moral law. Such individuals are generally the most deceptive. Because those individuals that seek power and carefully craft their image of morality are often the most deceptive. The truly good moral people just don’t run for president unfortunately.
Power has come down, not to being a good person, but to appearing as one. Many Americans saw every President appear so good, get elected, and act against American interests.
Trump does not appear to be a good moral person and he don’t care. That is why Trump has a loyal following. People believe he is authentic.
It goes like this, you would hate to have a loving partner cheating on you behind your back. But hell, you would kick out the honest one a whole lot sooner. And you would trust them more because they are honest.
It generally works better in politics to be the loving partner cheating behind Americans backs. But Trump embraces his flaws and is honest about everything. He does what he says. People want honesty more than they want the appearance of morality. That is why Trump got elected, and that is why he has a good chance in 2024.
Trumps Second Cult
Trump has a cult of people that hate his guts. These are the types that would hang Trump even if he personally came out with a cure for cancer.
Basically no matter what, they are out to get Trump. No matter the good he does, they will keep being a hater.
I genuinely believe that, more or less, this makes people in the middle give Trump a chance. When people hate on someone so hard, people in the middle are going to start asking questions.
This truly has been fascinating to watch over the last 8 years.
Here Is Why I Like Trump
Donald Trump is not my God. Instead, he understands the laws of power to an extent that he wins.
It may seem inappropriate to love Trump because he wins. Should I not put people with morality higher on my admiration chart then people that win?
I used to be that way. But the more I see people with morals get run over by people without, I have asked myself what part of morality it is to get ruined by injustice.
But that is not all. When someone cannot win a battle because their morality keeps them from acting, they are committing an equal sin of injustice to themselves and those around them.
Good moral people could not get close to the white house. They run as independent and get 2% of the vote.
Morality is more or less based on each individuals views. Assume that you took the laws of power and adopted them as a moral code.
Not short term laws of power, long term. You would probably end up with a pretty good moral code. Because long term you need to treat others well to maintain power. You need to be strict with yourself.
That is not to say that everything Trump does is moral. Instead, it is saying perhaps it is much closer to morality that consistently being run over by evil.
It is my belief that long term laws of power are the most moral, and almost always align with the deeper meanings of the bible. You cannot be a short term jerk and get away with it forever. If you do good to others, and don’t let others do bad to you, you might win! No one is perfect. But winners don’t turn the other cheek when someone is going to kill or take advantage of them. They turn the other cheek when it is possible to be a peacemaker.
