Here Is The Truth About Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is the greatest religious leader of all time. And he only lived to be 33 years old.

I find myself asking the question: Am I a follower of Jesus Christ?

The man who said this:

Matthew 12:30 (NIV): “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.”

I find myself currently unknown and someone that just wants to ask deeper questions about it. But according to Jesus Christ, if I am not for him then I am against him.

According to John the Baptist, Jesus Christ baptizes us not just with water but with fire and the Holy Ghost.

Sounds pretty good to me!

What Right Do I Have To Question Jesus Christ?

How could one be a staunch supporter of Jesus Christ if they are not willing to explore the possibility that he is not who he says he is?

Jesus made some bold claims:

John 14:6 (NIV): Jesus told His disciples, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Jesus Christ refers to himself as the ‘Son of God’, and ‘The Messiah’.

My question is this: If I follow the principles and teachings of Jesus Christ, do they lead me to all truth? Is there a lie within them?

If within my daily affairs I was to follow these principles exactly, and by doing so I was brought to greater and greater understanding of the truth, success, love, and all good things, then it seems to me that Jesus Christ is indeed the TRUTH, the LIFE, and the WAY.

But if I cannot maximize my potential and the good I can do in this world by following Jesus Christ, then why would I?

Loyalty

From my understanding of Jesus Christs words, he draws a line between loyalty and enemy, but there does not seem to be any in between.

Look, I don’t like the idea of being against Jesus Christ. That seems like a pretty damn uncomfortable position.

But what if I am not prepared to gather into his fold?

Then I am against him. Until I turn into his fold. That is what he says.

How Did Jesus Christ Face Death?

When a person faces death and knows they will die, particularly when they will be killed, they will inevitably show their true character.

When Jesus was getting judged by Pilate, he said:

” Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth.” John 18:37 (KJV):

It really is a surreal story, it reads like Jesus knows he will die, knows that Pilate will have no choice, and he is just waiting for it to happen. It reads as a divine plan that God set in motion.

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45

I don’t know man, that makes me like Jesus. He really was just planning on dying and being resurrected.

Did Jesus Christ Get Resurrected?

We could argue all day about the evidence and so forth. Or you could tell me to pray about it.

I love the idea that Jesus was resurrected. But that does not mean he was.

While the evidence might be interesting, I think we can agree that 2000 years have passed and a ton of interesting events have transpired.

This is where I am going to be super honest about my feelings.

My logical mind does not think that Jesus Christ was resurrected.

My spiritual feelings do.

When I say that I don’t know, then I am dead serious because of that.

I often have to ask myself: have you been better served through logical thinking or your spiritual feelings you gain through prayer?

While I do love the story of Jesus Christ, religion has been shattered in 1000 ways for me. But my entire mind and chemistry in thought process is literally wired by my religious upbringing.

Even if I was to say I did not believe in Jesus, most of my beliefs about good and evil would remain, most of which come from the bible.

Conclusion

To me, even if Jesus Christ did not get resurrected, I still find invaluable lessons from Jesus.

Part of me wants to preach Jesus Christ and live my life for him. And part of me wants to be a more logical person and remember all the lessons I have learned so far in my religious and spiritual journey.

To me saying I believe in Jesus Christ would not be a common tradition as it is for many. Instead it would be a commitment to live by those principles, which is no small task.

Even now, I do try to live by most of those principles. But really believing in Jesus Christ’s story in a physical sense, rather than a prototype, is something that I will have to further think about.

It is not a bad thing to think of the story of Jesus as deep archetypal truths about human existence, morality, and psychology. That is what I learned from Jordan Peterson and I really love his view on this.
