To The Winds

Some weeks the words come as essays. This week, they came as a prayer.

All I really feel like saying is I love you. If you recognize the wording from a retreat you attended, you might not be wrong.

To the Winds of the South, great Serpent, gratitude for the strength to shed my skin.

To the Winds of the West, Mother Jaguar, you’ve shown me the way beyond death.

To the Winds of the North, Hummingbird, you’ve whispered to me in the wind.

To the Winds of the East, Great Eagle, Condor, I was just beneath your wing.

Mother Earth, my feet are grounded on you.

Father Sun, Grandmother Moon, to the star nations—love has increased in my heart.

Sunshine rays and the omen of a honey bee.

Enlightened mind and clarity in consciousness.

Nature sings, and light manifests beauty where darkness hid the roses.

The shadow of death has been revealed,

and the soul-torn soundtrack turned to vibrations of love.

So the bitter death of pride left room for joy where vanity was.

Because the enemy fed my heart,

and the threat of a brother turned to friendship.

Poems aside, I feel renewed.

And that takes facing all your problems and trauma.

What is life? Something above the bickering nonsense and flashy wealth of society.

Riches that come from nature and connection from the stars.

All I really feel like saying is: I love you.

Have a wonderful week.
